The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) operates a regional customer service center in Covington, KY. To keep up with an increasingly high-volume workload, the government needed to install new voice and data networks throughout the center. Working as a contractor directly for the U.S. Government, CTS provided the following services for this high-security facility:
- Designed and installed layout of horizontal and intermediate frames in raised floor environment.
- Designed and installed layout of fiber optic panels and Category 5 patch panels, consisting of Category 5, Category 3, and fiber optic terminations.
- Handled construction of all racking and equipment to ensure proper routing of all cable.
- Provided complete termination, testing, and documentation of all copper and fiber optic cables to be in compliance with all governmental and industry standards.
CTS supervisors and technicians coordinated with IRS personnel to schedule each phase of the job with minimal interruptions to the center's employees and to ensure appropriate security measures were maintained throughout the project.
