Wright Patterson Air Force Base
Acquisition Management Complex
When the U.S. Air Force decided to build a high-security communications facility at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, CTS was enlisted to provide the network infrastructure. Working with Cincinnati-based Monarch Construction Company, the general contractor, and with Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern, a Roanoke, VA-based engineering firm, CTS completed the following work for the multiple phases and structures of the project:
- Designed and installed layout of horizontal distribution frame of more than 20,000 pairs.
- Designed and installed layout of intermediate frame of more than 15,000 pairs.
- Designed and installed layout of fiber optic and Category 5 patch panels, consisting of more than 30,000 Category 5, Category 3, and fiber optic cables.
- Completed testing of all cabling platforms to ensure compliance with all industry and national standards.
Throughout the project, CTS technicians and supervisors were in constant contact with U.S. Air Force personnel to coordinate the project and ensure proper job scheduling to minimize work interruptions and comply with security regulations. CTS also worked with Air Force personnel to ensure that the job was completed on time and to the Air Force's demanding quality specifications and guidelines.
