CTS Telecommunications installed a private fiber optic network for the City of Hamilton, Ohio. The network included both aerial and underground installations and spanned four river crossings placing more than 50 miles of fiber. It connected all of the city’s municipal buildings, including both administrative offices and utility buildings.
City officials selected CTS as the contractor for this project because of the company’s experience in outside network construction. The job required CTS to coordinate with the city’s electric department to place fiber optic cable on city-owned poles, as well as with Cincinnati Bell and Cinergy to place fiber optic cable on some of their poles. CTS technicians have many years of experience with the extra precautions and training needed to safely place cabling on a pole line in a power supply zone.
